Cuzoogle’s Pigskin Picks: Week Nine

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

Another week is in the books sportsfans! GrandmasterB is rolling after what was almost a disaster of a week. Watching Sunday’s games I was stressing, because most of the teams I had picked were down. Luckily, there were some great comebacks and I came out of the week unscathed with a 10-3 record and finishing tied for second with Buzz Pirates. This week’s winner was Tailgating Ideas who picked up his second winning week of the season. (more…)

The guys over at WooThemes have a crazy scary deal going on now through tomorrow at midnight. To celebrate Halloween they are offering up for a limited time a three for one deal!

So, what that means is if you’re in the market for or have been contemplating purchasing one of the killer premium themes from WooThemes…now is the time. If you purchase a single-site license for any theme…you can choose two more for the low price of $70 ($150 if you want the developer license).

Buy a Single License for $70 USD and get any 2 other themes (on Single Licenses) of your choice; or

Buy a Developer License for $150 USD and get any 2 other themes (on Developer Licenses) of your choice.

That’s a pretty sweet deal, but there’s more! If you’re interesting in joining the WooThemes Club; you can also get a bonus deal. If you sign up between now and tomorrow at midnight for either a three or six month subscription they will toss in three months free of charge. So instead of three months you get six, and instead of six you get nine months…THAT’S A KILLER DEAL! (pun intended).

GrandmasterB is also going to go in on offering up something special. If you purchase a theme during this limited time special offer using my link, and verify the purchase via email and comment here. (more…)

Desperately Seeking a Super Bowl Win!

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

How much would you spend to find a mate? Well, if you’re a never-married, forty-something, mensa member from New York…you might be inclined to spend Three Million Dollars! I first heard this story on Mike & Mike in the Morning today on the radio and I just had to research it to be certain of it’s validity…well, it’s real.

Forty-something New Yorker Amy Borkowsky is fed up with the dating game and is looking for a ring…and I don’t mean a Super Bowl ring. Amy wants a husband and rather than spend time on dating sites, or going to speed dating meetings she wants to sink Three Million Dollars into a 30-second Super Bowl spot. If she’s successful in raising the money (oh yeah…she needs your help) it will be the world’s most expensive personal ad. When I mention she needs your help, she’s asking for donations to get her to her goal. When I first heard the story I thought oh she must have like half in the bank…oh no! I checked her website SuperBowlSingleGirl.com and she’s WAAY OFF the mark. As of this post she is sitting at $2,170 with $2,997,830 to go!

In this time of economic hardship, that three million bucks could be better served investing in something more stable than a marriage to a desperate forty year-old. I’m thinking some better photos might help her cause, maybe a trip to Glamour Shots? I guess a $20 investment to her cause wouldn’t be any more risky than putting it into my 401(k), but I’d rather stick it under my matress for safe keeping. Will you help our poor Amy Borkowsky? Will she make her goal before all of the spots for the Super Bowl are sold out? Oh the suspense is killing me…we’ll find out in 96 days!

Cuzoogle’s Pigskin Picks: Week Eight

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

We are now close to halfway through the 2008 NFL season, and the divisions are starting to shape up. The big surprise this season has to be the Indianapolis Colts at 3-4. There are rumors throughout the sports world that Peyton Manning is injured and his knee isn’t 100%. I for one would have to agree with that analysis. There has to be something wrong with that knee injury still.

Last night’s Monday Night Football game showed just how tough the Tennessee Titans are, and in my personal opinion they are the class of the league right now. Sitting atop the league with a 7-0 record in one of the tougher divisions in past seasons the Titans have to be the favorite to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. The biggest competition for the Titans would have to be the Steelers or the Patriots, but Buffalo and Miami might have something to say about that.
