Kim Kardashian’s Dancing with the Stars Photo

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

The promotional photos for the seventh season of Dancing With The Stars came out today, and I must say some of them are impressive (although, there’s a little too much lens flare). I can’t believe that I missed Kim Kardashian being named as a contestant on the show! I’ve never watched a single episode, but this season I’m setting both DVRs so I don’t miss a minute of KK shaking that fabulous backside. After looking at some of the contestants photos, there are a few stunners in the crowd…and some that are not!

Of course, the beautiful Toni Braxton and Brooke Burke got my attention but when I ran across this picture of Misty Mae-Treanor I thought my eyeballs were going to burn out. Here’s a tidbit of advice for you Miss Mae-Traenor, before going out in the hot summer sun in your beach volleyball getup; apply a thick coat of sunscreen with an industrial sprayer to yourself before you turn into a sharpei.

There are two older ladies on this season as well; which should be interesting to watch. Cloris Leachman and Susan Lucci round out the field of women. I’m not sure how light on their toes these two “spring chickens” are, but I anticipate a few falls on the floor and many laughs. I know that I shouldn’t make fun of older folks, but I can’t help myself. :)

We don’t care about the dudes on the show, but their partners are smokin’ hot. I’ve included pics of Toni Braxton, Brooke Burke and Jeffrey Ross’ dance partner for your viewing pleasure. I will be watching the 3-Night Live Premiere event Monday, September 22nd @ 8/7c.

GrandmasterB Reviews the New 90210

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

I hate to admit this, but I actually tuned into watch the premier of the new 90210 last night. Part of me thinks that I should have my man license revoked for watching, but it wasn’t all that bad. Of course, I have Cuzoogle to blame for inspiring me to watch. He had to put up his “Three Great Reasons to Watch the New 90210” post and put up pictures of the three leading ladies. I must admit that they are indeed smokin’ hot, but are there more reasons to watch other than just Shenae Grimes, Jessica Stroup and AnnaLynne McCord?

For one, the show actually tracks back to the original series. Characters like Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth) and Brenda Walsh (Shannen Doherty) return, and even good ole Nat from the Peach Pit (Joe E. Tata) is back and running the new and improved “The Pit”. If you were a fan of the original series, there’s a lot of the same story lines from the past; however, it isn’t the 90210 from the 1990’s. I was a little shocked to see that within the first five minutes of the show one of the main characters (Ethan) getting a BJ in the school parking lot. Is this really how high school is in the 21st century? If it is, I am glad that I don’t have daughters.

Overall, the show is okay. I’m not sure that it will make it onto my DVR rotation, especially when some of the bigger shows come back this fall. The acting and storylines have all been done before, so I’m not sure how long this version of 90210 will do. There are at least five or six shows just like it on the air; it will be hard for them to compete with The Hills, Gossip Girl and the countless other titles. For me it was cool to see Jennie Garth renew her role as Kelly Taylor, but I don’t think I’ll be a regular viewer.

P.S. Here’s a few images of the smokin’ hot AnnaLynne McCord…enjoy!

Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

I have seen some crazy and quirky stuff before and then I saw Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. This wildy inventive web show from Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon is quite hilarious. Unfortunately, the new show has received so much buzz that the site has crashed and is no longer reachable. I was able to download a copy of the first act on iTunes and watch it before that went down as well. The series of three videos was created by Joss Whedon during the WGA strike. His brothers Zack and Jed and Jed’s Fiancé Maurissa Tancharoen helped Whedon also helped co-write the series.

Hancock Movie Review

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

I had the pleasure to go see Hancock on Thursday night, and I must say it wasn’t what I was expecting. For those of you with kids that are thinking about seeing the movie; I would recommend against taking the little ones. There are some foul words that you may find offensive and you wouldn’t want your kids repeating them at the bus stop. Hancock is a good movie though and turns the “super hero” genre on its head to deliver a different message. Sometimes not all super heroes really want to be “super”.

WALL-E: Kid’s Movie or Environmental Message

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

I had the pleasure of taking my two boys to see WALL•E yesterday, and I must say I was thoroughly impressed. I’ve never been disappointed by a Pixar film, and WALL•E was no different. The movie’s main character is a robot that is put to the task of cleaning up the Earth while all of the humans have fled the planet aboard what could be described as a huge space cruise ship. While the planet is being cleaned up the humans have spent the past 700 years waiting for signs of plant life to return along with becoming extremely obese.
