I’ve recently become aware of the fact that the Kardashian ladies are lovers of the summertime favorite…ice cream. There have even been recent videos of Kim eating ice cream in a very naughty manner. If eating ice cream could ever be considered erotic; I firmly believe that the Kardashian sisters have mastered the skill. As we all know July is notoriously one of the hottest months across America, and this year has been no exception. GrandmasterB spent last week, five miles from Hell (Omaha, Nebraska) and it was freakin’ miserable hot. The temps reached the high 90’s with 100% humidity…I literally felt like I was wearing a layer of sweat (I know that’s disgusting). Anyhow, the only saving grace was cooling off with a tall vanilla cone at Zesto’s Ice Cream Parlor (next to Rosenblatt Stadium). It’s too bad that Miss Kardashian wasn’t there to help me out with my cone…might’ve made the heat more bearable.

The month of July was also HOT for GrandmasterB and the amount of traffic to the site was incredible. With the amount of backlinks, referrals from StumbleUpon and guest posts on Cuzoogle; GrandmasterB managed to eclipse the total traffic from May and June combined. I can only attribute the great success for the month of July to having my tutorials picked up by the major tutorial sites: Pixel2Life, Tutorialized and Photoshop Lady. I think that GrandmasterB has definitely found it’s niche and now it’s time to focus on writing great content and tutorials and build upon the success of July.

As you can see by the graphic above, there was a significant jump in traffic last month. Overall, I am very happy about the growth of visitors to the site. My Alexa rank did slip a little bit, but nothing to worry about and my Technorati stats are still increasing. The latest Google PageRank update gave GrandmasterB a little love as well bumping the rank up to a 2/10. The cool thing is that the RSS Feed Icon Tutorial has received so many good quality links that it actually ranks a 3/10! Below is a breakdown of how the site faired for the month of July compared to May and June.

There were a few minor setbacks for the site during the month of July too…nothing is ever perfect you know. Unfortunately, my latest tutorial is getting some static and hasn’t been picked up yet so I don’t think I’ll see much referral traffic in the future for that particular post. I’ve decided that I’m not going to edit my tutorials in order to please other sites and get it linked, but I think overall it was well received. The other setback was I just didn’t have the freetime to write as many posts as I would have liked. August is already looking like it will be very busy at the workplace, home and freelance projects. I feel like such a tool, because I haven’t had near enough time to get my buddy Mr. Pappagiorgio’s theme finished up yet. He’s been very patient and I appreciate it…I’ll hook you up very soon Mr. P!

I am cooking up some more quality ideas for this month and trying to secure a few guest posts from some respectable bloggers within my network of friends.
