Do You Want To Join the StumbleUpon Crusade?
Posted on May 21st, 2008 by GrandmasterB under Social NetworkingA few weeks ago Forest (TheRandomForest.com) had posted about getting together a small group that would stumble each others posts to build up traffic. I’m not sure what happened to the post as I was the only person willing to jump in the mix. Since then Forest, Jeff (BuzzMyBlog.com), Cuzzy (Cuzoogle.com) and myself have all gathered together and formed the base of the StumbleUpon Crusade group to help each other out. Basically, if you want us to check out your site post a comment and we’ll put you on the radar. Apparently, StumbleUpon frowns upon soliciting stumbles so we can’t have you asking us to stumble. But if you would like us to browse your latest posts we can do that…you get the picture.
If you’re interested in joining us in our “StumbleUpon Crusade”, simply comment here that you want in. Our only goal is helping each other by forming a small network of bloggers to make getting your blog noticed easier. We are not asking you to commit to anything just browse around and if you like what you see stumble it…if not no big deal. What do you think? If you’re interested comment here and we will do what we can to help each other out.
~ GrandmasterB
(I’ve just edited this post as to not break the TOS of StumbleUpon. I guess we cannot ask you to stumble a post, but we can point you in the direction of reading our posts and if you like them you can stumble them. Symantics) ![]()

I would really love to join the crusade. I have a new blog up at mrpappagiorgio.com and am ready to try and get some traffic going. Hopefully the new design will be done soon as well. *hint *hint GMB.
Anyway, count me in on the group, and if someone can please explain how I “stumble” a post, it would be appreciated.

goto: stumbleupon.com and you can download a toolbar for Firefox (and IE I belive). Then all you do is visit the site and give it a “thumbs up” if you like it.

So if I want to stumble a certain post, I should make sure I’m viewing the full post? As opposed to the homepage that lists different posts, correct?

Count me in also.
How is this going to work? Are we going to post here every night or are we going to just go back to the same blogs every night and look for the newest post?

The easiest way and probably the best way to avoid getting into trouble with StumbleUpon is to subscribe to each other’s feed. Once you have the feed in your reader you can stumble new posts as they come in. Sound good?

Hey guys…Cuzzy and I have the group setup; however, I can’t send invites yet. I need Cuzzy to give me permissions on the group. I’ll get you all setup ASAP!
Thanks for the response…I hopt we can make this work and stay out of trouble with SU.
BTW…Chris, how much is a SU campaign?

@GrandMasterB - it works out as $0.05 per visitor, paid through Paypal, but so far I’ve got very little out of it. It pushes your page to visitors using the stumble button, the problem being that visitors aren’t forced to give you a rating. I had 100 visitors in my first day but not a single thumbs up (fortunately no thumbs down either).
Must be that my content wasn’t enough to catch their attention before they hit the button again.

Jennifer, I understand about not moving forward with this. I think that the best solution would be to just compile our usernames for SU and add each other as friends/fans. My worst fear is that one or all of us would get banned and I don’t want that.
