You know how you wake up and know that it is just going to be “one of those days”? That was today for me. No matter how much I read The Secret it just doesn’t sink in. Well, maybe I should take that back because I’m still stuck on page two. Anyhow, I thought today was going to be one of those fantastical days that you dream about. You wake up, the sun is shining, birds are singing and there’s a big fat $1800 deposit from the IRS waiting for you in your bank account.

Of course not a single one of those things happened today. It was 30°, snow on the ground, not a bird in sight and my bank account had not received it’s much needed economic stimulus deposit. What’s a guy to do? I’ll tell you what I’d like to do.

I’d like to march down to the nearest IRS office and put my foot in someone’s ass; however, that would probably get me tossed in jail. Instead, I opted to go to work and spend the next few hours figuring out why said economic stimulus payment was not electronically transferred to my account. Afterall, I have met each of the required actions as set for by the IRS.

  1. Filed 2007 Income Tax Return before April 15, 2008: CHECK (filed on Feb. 18th)
  2. Opted for Electronic Transfer of Refund: CHECK
  3. Did not owe any back taxes: CHECK
  4. Last two digits of SS# are 00 to 20: CHECK: 07

By all accounts on the beloved IRS.gov site I should receive my economic stimulus payment no later than May 2nd. What the IRS website neglects to inform users is that if you used TurboTax and opted to pay them (Intuit) their fees via out of your refund through Santa Barbara Bank & Trust that the IRS would not be sending your economic stimulus payment electronically. It will instead be mailed to you…thanks for the information assclowns. If you did what I did and chose to have the fees deducted from your return you too will have to wait for snail mail to deliver your check. UGH!

Another Year Older

That’s correct! Yours truly GrandmasterB is celebrating his 35th Anniversary on planet Earth today. I would’ve announced it sooner, but dealing with the IRS bologna took a lot out of me. I have decided that since my day hasn’t gone so hot that I would stay in and hang out with the family. I’ll try to start over tomorrow and see how it goes. My oldest son and I are volunteering along with some coworkers to paint houses for those in need. I’m hoping the karma I receive from paying it forward will rub off on the Rockies when I’m at the game tomorrow night.

Side Note…look right!

I’ve decided to experiment with ScratchBack paid links to see how they do. If you’d like to send me a $5 economic blog stimulus it would be greatly appreciated! All ScratchBack text links will be displayed on the blog for 30 days. Not a bad deal!
