Incredible Friday the 13th
Posted on June 13th, 2008 by GrandmasterB under Sports & EntertainmentFriday, June 13th is finally here and with it comes the release of another potential Summer blockbuster. Marvel is unleashing The Incredible Hulk on the masses with a more gritty and dark version of the giant green hero. I’m sure we all remember the last version of the Hulk and it’s something we would all just rather forget…I’m sure Marvel wouldn’t mind forgetting either. This time around the storyline follows along the same lines as the 1970’s classic television series and is loaded with star power. Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) is a fugitive on the run from General Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross (William Hurt) as he believes that Banner is the property of the US Military and he wants to use The Hulk as a weapon.
After a run-in with The Hulk, Tim Roth’s character (Emil Blonsky) volunteers to combat and capture The Hulk by submitting himself to the gamma radiation that created The Hulk. The result is a larger, stronger and more destructive creature than The Hulk…Abomination. In order to stop Abomination and save his girlfriend Betty Ross (Liv Tyler); Banner must decide between living in the shadows or embracing his superhero alter-ego.
GrandmasterB will be checking out The Incredible Hulk tomorrow and will give a full review. I will do my best to not spoil the movie for others, and I ask that you do the same if you comment on the movie. Also, I’ve heard rumor of another superhero making a cameo appearance, similar to the end of Iron Man. I know for certain that Tony Stark shows up at some point in the film, but this other hero ties into the Avengers story. I’m not 100% sure yet about this rumor, but stick out the credits just in case.

I’m big fans of both Tim Roth and Edward Norton. Not huge on the Hulk though, but I bet its at the very least entertaining.

They were in the 1997 Woody Allen film “Everyone Says I Love You”. I never saw it…not a big Woody Allen fan.

Ah. You know, I honestly can’t even think of a Woody Allen movie that I’ve seen before. Interesting considering I’m pretty big into movies too.

I had every intention of seeing the movie this past Saturday, but as usual something came up. I didn’t realize that we had so much planned for Saturday and Sunday…so I guess Hulk will have to wait for this weekend.
To no surprise it topped the Box Office this weekend taking in over $54 million.

I thought the movie was awesome! The battle scenes were way intense. Oh and there is a special Easter Egg at the end of the movie. You will need to see Iron Man first for it all to make sense.
