Friday, June 13th is finally here and with it comes the release of another potential Summer blockbuster. Marvel is unleashing The Incredible Hulk on the masses with a more gritty and dark version of the giant green hero. I’m sure we all remember the last version of the Hulk and it’s something we would all just rather forget…I’m sure Marvel wouldn’t mind forgetting either. This time around the storyline follows along the same lines as the 1970’s classic television series and is loaded with star power. Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) is a fugitive on the run from General Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross (William Hurt) as he believes that Banner is the property of the US Military and he wants to use The Hulk as a weapon.

After a run-in with The Hulk, Tim Roth’s character (Emil Blonsky) volunteers to combat and capture The Hulk by submitting himself to the gamma radiation that created The Hulk. The result is a larger, stronger and more destructive creature than The Hulk…Abomination. In order to stop Abomination and save his girlfriend Betty Ross (Liv Tyler); Banner must decide between living in the shadows or embracing his superhero alter-ego.

GrandmasterB will be checking out The Incredible Hulk tomorrow and will give a full review. I will do my best to not spoil the movie for others, and I ask that you do the same if you comment on the movie. Also, I’ve heard rumor of another superhero making a cameo appearance, similar to the end of Iron Man. I know for certain that Tony Stark shows up at some point in the film, but this other hero ties into the Avengers story. I’m not 100% sure yet about this rumor, but stick out the credits just in case.
