There is big and then there is BIG! I have always heard rumor of the junk in Kim Kardashian’s trunk, but honestly I had no idea there was that much…THAT’S A BIG ASS TRUNK! How her hind quarters got so inflated is beyond me, because her younger sister (pictured) Kourtney has a rockin’ little body.

I’m not sure what it is about these chicks or what it is that makes them “celebrities”, but I know one thing…they love to pose for the cameras. This picture just goes to prove my statement. You can see it in her eyes that she wants the world to see her big booty. Apparently, she knows it’s big and isn’t afraid to show it off.

I thought I knew BIG, but my definition is totally off from the the big that Kim Kardashian knows. My monthly numbers which weren’t all that bad; weren’t great either. I did see a big jump in my Alexa ranking and my Technorati numbers jumped up a bit too. The killer for the month of June seems to be the loss of 1200+ backlinks that were being tracked by Yahoo!. I’m not sure what happened there, but it didn’t seem to have a negative effect on the traffic.

Going into the last week of the month it appeared that the month of June was going to be a HUGE disappointment as my page views and number of visitors were way down from May. When I looked at the numbers on June 23rd, things were looking bleak as I had only mustered up a paltry amount of visits and page views. Fortunately, I managed to have two of my previous tutorials (Killer Metallic Text and Create a Logo for Featured Posts) published on Pixel2Life and the number of visitors and page views inflated. Let’s take a look at my definition of BIG numbers.

  • Number of Visitors: 1,956
  • Page Views: 2,788
  • Bounce Rate: 80.98% 

Traffic From June 23 thru Jun 30

  • Number of Visitors: 1,449
  • Page Views: 2,280
  • Bounce Rate: 74.53%

In a week I almost surpassed the total traffic from the previous three weeks. I finally found the magic solution and the niche for my blog…TUTORIALS! For awhile now my pal Cuzzy had been telling me that if I wrote tutorials that the traffic would come and he was right. Now all I have to do is keep coming up with cool stuff to create and put into a tutorial. I’ve submitted the Custom RSS Feed Icon tutorial to Pixel2Life and with any luck it will be approved sometime this month and help the numbers out even more. I’m working on a few ideas now, and I think that I’ve got some really great content for tutorials that should attract new readers. Speaking of new readers that something I need to work on; getting people to subscribe to the feed.

I didn’t really change too much from May to June in regards to methods of building up the hype for GrandmasterB dot com. The one notable change was I completely stopped dropping EntreCards. As many of you know I found EntreCard to be a bit of a double-edged sword. True it brings in traffic and you occasionally get someone who comments on the site, but it kills your bounce rate. In all honesty though, I just didn’t have the time to dedicate to dropping cards, so I pretty much only drop on the blogs I frequently visit now.

The month of June was good though, I did learn some things and as I stated earlier I did improve on some of the other numbers I was focusing on.

I can’t figure out how or why I lost 1200 backlinks, but in the grand scheme of things I guess it isn’t a big deal. I’m thinking it must be due to the fact that I didn’t comment on other blogs very much last month. With running two blogs and working full-time there wasn’t much free time to comment and find new blogs. Such is the life of a blogger, right? Well, that’s all for this edition of the Month in Review.
