After seeing the now famous images of Miley Cyrus in Vanity Fair and her new Milk Mustache advertisement Hugh Hefner has stepped into the “perv zone”. Apparently, Hugh-jass has stated that he would like to have 15 year-old Miley appear in Playboy. Of course, once he realized that he sounded like the world’s oldest pedophile he backtracked stating they would wait until she reached the legal age. Too late Hef, we all know that you like ‘em young you sick bastard. You helped us all confirm what we have known for years…you are a perverted, pajama clad old man.

What was that all about? That’s what I call getting you Googlebots excited enough to read my latest post. I’ve been trying to develop a decent post that would hook you all into reading it…did it work? I’m writing my “Month in Review” a few days early, because the stats (or main stat) are very impressive…at least in my eyes.

My bloggin’ pal Cuzzy emailed me the other day to congratulate me on my AlexaRank. I wasn’t sure what he was referring to as back on May 1st I posted that it was 787,729 and hovering. I didn’t realize that it had updated again and this time the number floored me. In a matter of twelve days (give or take) my AlexaRank had jumped dramatically. Take a look at these numbers:

I cannot believe that the Yahoo backlinks tripled in a matter of twelve days. I was dumbfounded by the jump in rank. Along with that jump I have seen some increase in traffic as well. I haven’t been dropping ECs on a daily basis and my visits are hovering around 65-90 per day. Unfortunately, I’ve been so swamped with work and side projects I haven’t been able to crank out good content to take advantage of the increase. I’m hoping I can dedicate an hour or two the rest of the week to get back on track.

How did I do it?

Honestly, if I told you I knew how I increased my numbers so quickly I would be lying to you. The only things that I have been doing are commenting on blogs that I am subscribed too and stumbling new ones. It has been about a week or two since I started my Heads Up Seven Up blogrolls; which could be part of the reason my numbers improved so much. I’ll start looking deeper into the phenomenon and see if I can determine the cause. I may no know what caused it, but I sure am glad that it did.

What’s Coming Up?

Once I get these projects done and launched I’ve got a new domain that I’m working on getting live. I’m not sure what direction the new site will take, but it will be open to just about anything. The only thing that I have nailed down is the domain name MaverickDude dot com. You all have any ideas? I’m thinking something over the top that causes a firestorm of comments.

I’m also working on some ideas for a contest that would likely start in June. Be sure to subscribe to the feed if you want to get the 411 on the contest once it starts. The only other addition to the site that is forthcoming is I am going to be offering my design services to the masses.
