I’ve been eagerly awaiting the fall television premiers since early August, and tonight my favorite show on FOX returns…Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. I still need to watch the season one finale and get caught up before tonight’s premier. When the first season ended my DVR went on a recording spree and deleted the finale, so I had to wait until it aired again last week and get it recorded again. I don’t know what it is about this series that I like so much…could be the fact that Lena Headey plays Sarah Connors, but I’m fairly certain that Summer Glau keeps me coming back every week. Yeah…that’s gotta be it. Summer is packin’ heat and ready to kick ass!

GrandmasterB is also ready to kick some ass. After a lackluster month of blogging, I’ve decided to refocus my efforts and concentrate on building up the flagship of the GMB-Network. In July I had my biggest month ever, and rather than busting my ass to capitalize on the success I mailed it in last month and didn’t do nearly as well as I could have. Of course, I’m not one to make excuses but a lot of my time was spent working on the new forums for the MountainWest Sports Network and a custom wordpress theme for a client. I didn’t have much time for anything, so I’ve gotta cut myself a little slack…but not much.

What’s New for September?

DESIGN SERVICES
I’ve got a lot of projects in the works, but none bigger than building up my design business. That’s right, I’ve finally decided it’s time to make this blog work for me. I’ve launched a new Design Services page this past weekend and I am offering my services to the masses. This site is going to become a one-stop shop for custom design and blogging services. So, if you or someone you know is looking to have banner ads designed or a custom WordPress theme designed; they can get it all done here by GrandmasterB. I’ve posted pricing for banner ad design and a portfolio of some of my more recent website design work. Check it out!

TWITTER (and other Social Networking)
For awhile now, I’ve been wanting to get things rolling with Twitter on GrandmasterB dot com. Just like most things in life, I’ve been putting it off to make time for other stuff. I am going to work on posting new stuff on Twitter daily and also implement TwitterTools in the sidebar here. I’m beginning to think that this modified Milk-It Theme is putting too many constraints on what I can do with it. It might be time for an upgrade…we’ll see.

OTHER HAPPENINGS
I’m working on some other stuff at the office. We’re creating a blog for a couple of the guys here called ‘The Mtn. Locker Room’. Once it’s finished there will be videos, featured interviews and other nonsense that will make you laugh. We’re working on adding some video content to YouTube and once it’s online, I’ll post it here.

As you can see, it wasn’t all bad in August. The biggest surprise was that my Alexa Rank has tanked severely. In June, my Alexa Rank had topped out at 198,593 and now it’s dropped down to 257,992. I’m doing some research to find out what I can do to improve it, but I think I know it’s just going to take some hard work. The bounce rate and Technorati stats both improved last month as well. I attribute the Technorati stats to being linked by Cuzoogle for providing his graphic for the blogroll and the pigskin picks posts. The improved bounce rate is likely due to dropping EntreCard altogether and providing some decent content worth reading. The tutorials have been a big help in sparking visitors to read and stick around longer than normal.

Well, that’s it for this Month in Review post. It’s only taken me eight days to write it! If you have any tips or tricks for improving your Alexa Rank, I’d love to hear them. I’m still running the Q&A with GrandmasterB, and as of yet I still haven’t received any email questions. Remember if you email me a question and I answer it in the feature; I will send you 250 EntreCard credits and a $10 iTunes gift card. Until next time…
