Wow! It’s hard to believe that another week has come and gone already. My original intention was to get a good post put up on the blog on a daily basis, but I found myself swamped with work and parenthood this past week. I really focused this past week on quality instead of quantity and I think it really paid off. Yesterday (3/30), I was able to reach a goal that I had set out for the blog by having 50 visitors in a day. I know that it doesn’t sound like much, but for a blog that’s only ten days old it’s a pretty decent accomplishment. I have now raised the bar for myself to reach 100 visitors in a day. I’m curious to see how long it will take to reach this new milestone.

Before I started my blog I found a lot of great tips and a budding new community of bloggers at Buzz My Blog. The creator of the site (Jeff) is dedicated to building traffic on his site and eventually try to make money. During his “Adventure in Internet Marketing”, Jeff has vowed to share all of his findings, successes, failures and monthly traffic reports for the site. Jeff is one of the first bloggers I have seen that is truly sincere in helping other new bloggers in getting their sites off the ground. Each week he holds a contest dubbed The Weekly Buzz. Generally the prize is geared towards giving the winner a jumpstart on getting their blog off the ground with EntreCard credits. When the contest first started the prize was 300 EntreCard credits, but as the popularity of the site grew…so did the prize.Now Jeff has raised the bar again with a really interesting prize…500 EntreCard credits and 200 Unique Visitors. How can he guarantee 200 unique visitors you ask? Jeff is going to do a focused StumbleUpon campaign for the winner. The winner of this weeks contest will be able to pick the day of the campaign, so they can post some really good content. Then Jeff will use the power of the StumbleUpon mob to drive traffic to the site. Personally, I think this is a great idea…definitely original for sure.
