What’s that old adage? When it rains it pours. Well, in my case it’s pouring…pouring design jobs. GrandmasterB has become extremely busy over the past week with new design projects coming through the door. Shortly after the release of last week’s review post, I was hired to design the header you see above for the popular French basketball forums Basket4Life. Antoine has been great to work with and I definitely appreciate his business. I am currently working on another design for his header as well, that has a little more “urban” feel to the font. I’m thinking about digging into the Go Vandal font for this one.

I am also hard at work on another client project; however, he has asked me to keep it a secret until it’s ready to lauch…so we’ll have to wait to release any news regarding that project. You won’t have to wait too long though, as we’re scheduling the launch for next week (November 3rd).

All of this work is really great and I’m loving all of the feedback that I’m receiving. Jeff and I are trying to utilize the little bit of free time we have to get our website (BlogFixers.com) online too. That’s the drawback to having tons of work to do…no time for the personal projects. Speaking of personal projects, I had been hinting about a secret project for awhile now that I’d been working on. I wanted to have it launched by November 1st, but with all of the other projects going on it’s been pushed back to at least January 1, 2009. I have tried to figure out a way to get it done, but client work comes first. I’ll probably keep working at it here and there when time permits; however, I don’t want to rush it (or client work) just to get it done.

It’s that time again kiddies! GrandmasterB took the day off yesterday from blogging to do some springtime landscaping on the back forty. I must say that if there’s one thing that I absolutely cannot stand it’s manual labor. My soft blogger hands were not meant to be digging holes; they are better suited here at the computer. Can you imagine if I would’ve gotten a splinter? That would’ve been awful, I don’t even want to think about it…the horror!

Other than my landscaping nightmare yesterday the week was fairly uneventful. I did see the Rockies get pounded on by the Dodgers 12 - 7 on Saturday night at Coors Field. The sting of the loss was numbed by a few pints of In Heat Wheat from the Flying Dog Brewery. If any of you are near Coors Field for a game or for leisure definitely check out the Blake Street Tavern (23rd and Blake). They’ve got great grub and serve all of Flying Dog’s finest brews. If you’re there during the day you can get a tour of the Brewery; which by happenstance is located next door to the tavern. I highly recommend you check them out!

I finally pulled the trigger and moved the site over to Top Hosting Center this evening!

I don’t know what I was so afraid of…everything went off without a hitch. My biggest concern with moving was figuring out how to navigate a new control panel, but H-SPHERE is almost identical to CPanel. Last week when Mig from Top Hosting Center left a comment on the New Hosting for GrandmasterB post, I contacted him about doing a test period with their hosting plan. They gave me 48-hours to test out their service and let me tell you what…I only needed 2 hours to make up my mind.  I got on their support chat and they walked me through everything there is to know about setting up new domains, databases, email and everything else. TOP NOTCH SUPPORT!

I know that many of you mentioned moving over to HostGator and to tell you the truth, after helping out Cuzzy this past week with his site I wasn’t impressed with them. He had tickets open all weekend for an outtage and his site was down over ten hours on Saturday…unacceptable. I am glad that I made the switch to Top Hosting Center…now I just need to move my other domains and I’ll be free of my old host. If you’re looking for a new host, you should definitely check them out.

Another great week here at the GrandmasterB.com corporate offices. The buzz from being featured on WP-Premiums carried me through the week and created a storm of new visitors. The site has been receiving a lot of return visits which is great…at least I know you guys are somewhat interested in what I’m writing. I’ve received numerous emails regarding designing custom themes. I am planning on releasing a post later this week in regards to going public with design services. At this point, I’m still working on the details and when I have everything cleared up I will let you guys know. For now, lets see what happened this past week shall we…
