In what could be described as perhaps the Murphy’s Law of Blogging…if it can go wrong it will, last week was the craziest lot of bad luck ever. I had hoped for great numbers for visits to the site, but came up very short of the mark. The Month in Review post, chronicling the first full month of recorded stats was the most viewed post of the week bringing in 195 page views over the week. Some might think that’s an impressive number, but it wasn’t even the best content on the site last week.

I dug deep and came up with a fantastic tutorial to throw the Photoshop tutorial world on its head; only to be served a nice cold dish of reality. I’m not sure what lead to the tutorial’s downfall, it could’ve been a number of things. Maybe making the tutorial a two-parter killed it? was it too detailed or not detailed enough? It could be either of those things that lead to it not taking off, but I know one thing for sure didn’t help it any. Somehow, someway when the first part of the tutorial was discovered it was placed in the wrong category. I’m not entirely displeased as I’m hoping the tutorials will get picked up by either Pixel2Life, Tutorialized or get Dugg and build up sustained traffic. If you wouldn’t mind giving it a digg, I would greatly appreciate it.

Weekly Post Review

June 2: Month in Review - The post that started off the month and the week with a bang. A decent bit of activity coming from StumbleUpon brought in a bunch of traffic. Highlights include: great traffic statistics, upcoming events and design news.

June 5: New Vectors and a Tutorial from Go Media - The folks at Go Media launched their eleventh pack of awesome vector artwork and to celebrate gave readers an awesome tutorial for creating a t-shirt with the vectors and fonts that they offer.

June 6: Photoshop Tutorial: How To Create Killer Metallic Text - Part 1 - Part one of two for this tutorial, in part one the tutorial covers created a very cool background in which the text will be placed on. Definitely, check it out.

June 6: Photoshop Tutorial: How To Create Killer Metallic Text - Part 2 - The conclusion of the Killer Metallic text tutorial. This text effect is very cool and unlike anything I’ve ever seen on any of the tutorial sites.

June 7: The Right Category Makes a World of Difference - Frustrated by the mis-categorization of my tutorial post on StumbleUpon; I encouraged readers to make sure they actually know what it is they’re reading about before misplacing a post in the incorrect category…no I’m not bitter.
