It’s been quite awhile since I wrote up a week in review, so what better time to get back in the saddle than now? As many of you know, I struggled last month to get anything of substantial value posted up on the site and it was very frustrating. If anyone thinks that running a blog is an easy task; they’re mistaken. Finding new content that will drive readers to the site is a pain, and it only gets harder as you go. Last week I hit stride with a few quick hits and tested my hosting on Tuesday gathering up a record 315 simultaneous users online.

I’m still going through my Alexa Rank experiment that I eluded to in the August Month in Review. I think it’s working out, but the widget I installed in the sidebar is a little bit flaky. Somtimes the number fluctuates back and forth and makes me wonder just how accurate it is. In one week since starting the experiment I have improved my rank to 253,165 (+17,530); which is pretty good considering it’s been falling like a rock for the past two months. I’m still skeptical about the results of the experiment, but if the numbers look good come October 8th (1 month mark), I’ll feel much better.

I’ve got a few new projects in the works that will be launching next month; barring any unforseen scheduling snafu’s. I’m not quite ready to divulge any information about the projects, but they’re going to be very cool…I promise. Other than the secret projects, I’m just concentrating on building up the Design Services portion of GrandmasterB.com. Trying to get the word out that I’ve opened the doors to the public and I’m taking on new work. Here’s quick recap of the past week’s posts:

September 9: Cuzoogle’s Pigskin Picks: Week One Results - Recapping a paltry start to the 2008 NFL Season and GrandmasterB’s lackluster picks in the Cuzoogle Pigskin Pick’em.

September 9: Freebies - RSS Feed Icons: Grunge Set - With the success of the past freebies I offered (Freebies: RSS Feed Icons - Glassy Set); I decided to do a set of grunge icons. While the initial traffic busted through the roof and broke my record for users online; the backlinks aren’t coming in very quick. I thought for sure they would be more popular.

September 14: WordPress Auto-Update Plugin - I installed this cool plugin over the weekend and ran the upgrade here. It works to perfection and took a grand total of five minutes from installation to finished upgrade. If you haven’t upgraded in awhile, or aren’t too sure about doing it yourself GET THIS PLUGIN!
